Maryland Crabcakes

These crabcakes are wonderful to serve as tea snacks or in between buns in a sandwich.

  • 600g crab meat
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp. spring onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp. tobasco sauce
  • 1 red capsicum, diced small
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise


  1. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly combine crab meat with the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Shape the mixture into small patties using your hands.
  3. Fry the patties in butter and a little oil over medium heat until golden.
