Golden Chicken Drumettes

This is one of my favourite recipes for making fried chicken – guaranteed to give you mouth watering, golden, crunchy chicken drumettes every time.

Main Ingredients

  • 10 pcs of chicken drumstick
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp. young ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp. white pepper
  • 2 tbsp. melted margarine

Ingredients for the Breading:

  • 2 cups of cornflakes, crushed finely
  • ½ cup whole almonds, ground finely
  • 1 cup walnut
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 4 tbsp. flour
  • 2 whole eggs beaten

Ingredients for the Marinade

  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp. tobacco
  • 1 tbsp. honey

Instructions to marinate the chicken:

  1. Combine the ingredients and sauce.
  2. Marinade the chicken in the fridge for 4 hours.

Instructions to cook the chicken:

  1. Combine cornflakes, almonds, walnuts and salt together.
  2. Mix ingredients well.
  3. Bring the chicken to room temperature.
  4. Roll the chicken in the flour.
  5. Dip the chicken in the beaten egg.
  6. Wrap the chicken in the cornflakes.
  7. Heat the margarine.
  8. Shallow fry the chicken for a few minutes and turning them from time to time.
  9. Transfer the drumettes into a baking tray in single layer.
  10. Continue to cook in oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes or more.
