Pattaya style Stir-Fried Beef (Daging Goreng Pattaya)

Tender, juicy, and super delicious, this Malay-inspired beef dish brings showcases incredible basil, corriander and lemongrass flavours. A perfect quick meal to whip up after a long day.

Ingredients:

  • 500g beef, ‘topside’ thighs, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 10 birds-eye chili (pound finely)
  • 2 red chilli
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 pcs. kaffir lime leaves
  • A handful of Thai basil leaves
  • A handful of coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 stalk lemongrass, crushed
  • 2 stalks of onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • a bit of sugar
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil and sauté the lemongrass, hot chilli and red chilli until fragrant.
  2. Add the meat, oyster sauce, a little sugar and onion. Continue frying.
  3. Add kaffir lime leaves, basil and coriander once meat is almost ready.
  4. Serve immediately
