Seafood sautéed with Basil (Makanan Laut Goreng Bersama)

  • 800g of seafood of your choice, such as prawn, squid, ikan merah (red snapper), and crab.
  • 4 white onions, chopped
  • 5 red chilies
  • 3 chili padi
  • 1 tsp. of belacan
  • 2 tbsp. fish curry powder
  • 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp. fish sauce
  • 3 kaffir lime leaves
  • Handful of sweet basil leaves
  • Sugar to taste


  1. Pound red chilies, cili padi, belacan and white onions until fine.
  2. Heat oil and saute the pounded chilies with oyster sauce and curry powder until fragrant.
  3. Add in the seafood and a little water. Fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Finally, add kaffir lime leaves, basil and a pinch of sugar.
  5. Serve and enjoy.
