This is a delicious tart made with one of Southeast Asia’s most renowned fruits – the Jackfruit. It’s a unique Malaysian twist on a popular international dessert is guaranteed to leave you wanting more.

Ingredients for pastry
225g all-purpose flour
¼ cup icing
¼ cup toasted slivered almond crushed finely
125g planta margarine
2 egg yolks
A little ice water
Ingredients for filling
2 eggs
½ cup sugar
4 tbsp. heavy cream
½ cup ground almond
3 tbsp. melted margarine
6 pcs of jackfruit (seeds removed and quartered)
icing sugar for dusting
Instructions to make pastry
Add all the ingredients for pastry into a food processor, exclude ice water.
Mix the ingredients quickly using the pulse button.
Add ice water if necessary to bind the dough firmly.
Wrap in plastic.
Chill for ½ an hour.
Roll them into a 10inch / 25cm tart pan.
Bake pastry for 15 minutes at 180°C.
Add the filling into pastries.
Instruction to make filling
Whisk eggs, sugar and cream together lightly.
Stir ground almonds.
Add melted margarine.
Pour filling into the tart pan.
Arrange the slices of jackfruit on top.
Bake at 180°C for about 25 minutes until golden.
Serve warm with dusted icing sugar.
