Chicken Cacciatore

This dish has all the authentic ingredients in a classic Italian dish. The tomato sauce braises the chicken pieces and makes it tender. The quick searing of the chicken makes it even more flavourful.

  • 12 pcs. chicken (a mixture of different parts)
  • ½ cup wheat flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped finely
  • 300g button mushrooms, sliced thinly
  • 1 carrot, sliced round and shaped to a flower
  • ½ green capsicum, diced
  • ½ red capsicum, diced
  • 1 handful parsley, chopped finely
  • 1 tin whole plum tomatoes
  • ½ packet Brahim’s masak merah sauce


1. Mix the chicken with black pepper and salt.
2. Coat it with flour and fry it in the olive oil and butter for a while.
3. Take out the chicken from the frying pan and set aside.
4. Add the onions, garlic, carrots and button mushrooms in the same pan.
5. Add in the chicken, Brahim’s Masak Merah sauce, tinned tomato, capsicums, parsley, sugar and salt.
6. Boil it and once done, pour it in to a casserole pan.
7. Close it with aluminium foil and put it in the oven for 4 minutes at 180°C.
8. Serve hot.
